Previous Employment Experience

Chase and Area Family Services – Resource Manager

Working as a Resource Manager allowed me to take the lead on designing and facilitating camps and community programs from the ground up. I gained valuable experience supporting children through hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, and inclusive play. Whether I was running science camps, leading EverWild Explorers, or supporting children with ASD, I learned the importance of flexibility, creativity, and relationship-building. This role shaped my understanding of how children learn best through experience, connection, and curiosity. It strengthened my skills in planning, behaviour support, and collaboration, all of which continue to influence how I approach teaching and working with families.

Behaviour Interventionist – Independent Contractor

As a Behaviour Interventionist, I worked one-on-one with children diagnosed with ASD using a play-based approach. This experience taught me how to adapt quickly, observe carefully, and respond with patience and care. I learned to build trusting relationships with children and their families while supporting social, emotional, and behavioural growth in everyday settings. I gained confidence in using individualized strategies and found that every small success mattered. This role helped me develop a calm, steady presence and a deep appreciation for meeting each learner where they are. These are skills I will bring with me into the classroom every day.

Summer Recreation Program – Senior Camp Leader

As a Senior Camp Leader, I learned how to manage large groups of children with energy, empathy, and strong organizational skills. I planned creative activities, supervised junior leaders, and made sure that every child felt included and safe. Adapting plans on the spot and supporting a wide range of abilities helped me become more confident and flexible. I saw how important it is to create positive environments where children are free to try new things, make friends, and have fun. This role helped me build leadership and communication skills that I will continue to guide my work with students going forward.
